Band director Ken Snow and Silas Urban after a performance.

Silas Urban is a seventh grader here at MCA who has done incredible things with his skills on the clarinet. Back in December, Urban won first chair in the top band at the ATSSB competition, performing at a concert in January with the best Middle School performers in the area. In February, Urban competed for a spot on the TPSMEA Middle School Honor band, again earning first chair. The performance will be on February 17th at Greenhill School. Urban also has a spot on the Greater North Texas Youth Orchestra meaning he has a variety of practices and concerts to attend throughout the year. “I just like the passion in music, I think that’s what makes me good.” Said Urban.
