On Friday, February 16, two McKinney Christian Academy students competed in the 12th Annual McKinney Rotary Club 4-Way Speech Competition. This competition is for high school students who will write, memorize and perform a five to seven minute speech on a topic of their choosing. Competing in this competition were sophomore Alyssa Prahl and junior Lucas Mohler. Prahl discussed the positive benefits of generative AI, while Mohler spoke on the four rules of gun safety. The Rotary Club has a “4-Way Test” on how to write your speech. This 4-Way test is: Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill & better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned? The students faced students from McKinney High School. Prahl got first place while Mohler placed second. After winning the competition, Prahl said, “I couldn’t wait for this opportunity and would like to thank my parents and classmates for all their help in preparing.” Prahl will represent both MCA and the McKinney Rotary Club at the state competition in Dallas this May.

Hi, I'm Bailey and I'm a freshman. I have been attending MCA since 3rd grade. I enjoy playing volleyball, being with friends, and being with family. This is my first year in newspaper and I'm very excited. My favorite MCA memory is going to the championship for D1 in 8th grade and having an undefeated season. My favorite bible verse is Psalms 27:19.
"As water reflects the face, so one's life reflects the heart."
