On Saturday, April 20, McKinney Christian hosted their annual Boots and Pearls auction. This year, the event was at the McKinney Flour Mill. The attire for the night was called “Texas chic”. Lots of cowboy boots and cowboy hats were worn. Throughout the event, there was a silent auction for the people who wanted to bid online. There was also a live auction for the people who went to the event. The votes for the annual college flag race occurred throughout the night. People would vote on which college flag they wanted to be hung on campus. The Texas A&M flag replaced the last year’s TCU flag. Teacher April Doyle was asked about her thoughts on the night, and she said, “It was a great night, we had great entertainment from Carly Reign and Adrian Johnston Close and band. The menu was great, and everyone enjoyed amazing barbecue and desserts. A lot of work was put in by the advancement department and auction committee. It all payed off, the auction raised well over 150,000 dollars.” This event was a great way for MCA families to get to know each other.
