On Tuesday, August 13, the McKinney Christian Academy Students returned from summer for their first day of school. This day also marked the first day of school for the three new principals: Karen Krusing in the Lower School, Chance Dorris in the Middle School, and Kyle Morril in the Upper School. Students attended all their classes throughout the day, meeting their new teachers and reuniting with friends. The students and the teachers enjoyed the shortened school day, getting released at noon. The principals were asked how their day went, and each shared how they experienced the day. Karen Krusing said, “I think the day went great. We had lots of smiling faces. We had an inviting entrance with cheerleaders, Christian students, and staff members out front. It was really nice.” Middle school principal Chance Dorris said, “I honestly can’t believe how great this year started! Day one is always a community effort, especially with a modified schedule. But the bottom line is that everyone was where they were supposed to be, learning took place, and God was glorified. I feel very blessed to be a part of the MCA community.” When Upper School Principal Kyle Morril was asked how his first day went, he said, “I get butterflies every year on the first day of school. Lots of details. Lots of excitement. This year, I am the new kid for the first time in a long time. I loved getting to see all the Upper School kids in person. I’m learning names as fast as I can. MCA has already been a blessing because of the sweet, welcoming people everywhere I go. Super happy to be a Mustang!” The Mustang students and staff look forward to a great school year.
