On Tuesday, August 20, the McKinney Christian Academy Mustangs’ volleyball team faced off against the Legacy Christian Eagles. The Mustangs started slow, losing the first set of the game, 19-25. Then, the Mustangs lost again in the next set, 19-25. The Mustangs bounced back after the back-to-back losses and won the third set of the game, 25-21. Unfortunately, the Mustangs fell to Legacy 22-25 in the final set. Even with the loss, the team managed to get 55 kills and 45 digs. Senior Kadence Ackmann led the team in kills with 17, and senior Bren Williams had 10 kills. After the match, freshman Brittany Bartoo talked about the game, saying, “I think we all worked well together, and I’m looking forward to our team growing closer and getting better together throughout the season.”
Their next game is on August 22 in the Tournament of Champions, which MCA will host in the Student Life Center.
