On Tuesday, September 24, the McKinney Christian Lady Mustangs JV and Varsity volleyball teams played against Shelton. This game started district play for the Mustangs. The varsity team had a fast-paced game against Shelton. The game was back and forth the whole time, but ultimately, the Mustangs pulled through to get the win. The scores of each set were 25-17, 25-18, and 25-17. Senior Kadence Ackmann led with 15 kills and senior Mia Gunn had 10 digs. Sophomore Alexis Guerrero talked about the game saying, “ I’m so glad we won our first district game. We played really well and we had so much fun. I love how well we all work together as a team.”
The JV team won their game in two sets to conceal the win. Freshman Cana Heckadon talked about the game saying, “I’m happy we won the game, the communication was great and the passes were perfect. I’m excited for our next game.”
The Lady Mustangs’ next game is Thursday, September 26, against Tyler All Saints at home.
