On Wednesday, October 23, the McKinney Christian Academy second-grade classes took a field trip to the Heard Museum. They looked at dinosaur bones, went into a butterfly garden, saw rock crystals, a rehabilitating animal section, and a semi-zoo where they saw lots of animals. They also went on a trail and ran into deer and snakes along the way which fascinated the kids. In the rehabilitating animal section, there was a set of twin brother bobcats that the museum saved from a fire and that now live there. When Mrs. Francis’ class was asked if they had fun on their field trip, they all screamed “yes.”

Elizabeth Thompson has been going to MCA since she was in sixth grade and is now a freshman. This is her first year in newspaper, and she is excited to be apart of it. Her favorite sport is basketball, and is looking forward for the season to start in the winter. She also plays softball, and is planning to play for the school in the spring. Outside of school, she plays AAU basketball for a team named Valor, and likes to spend time with her friends and family. Her favorite memory at MCA was when she and a couple of friends were chased by a deer walking back from getting water at Prude Ranch.
Her favorite bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord. "Plans to prosper you, and not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future."
