On Monday November 11, McKinney Christian Academy and our nation recognized our veterans and their sacrifice for our freedom. At MCA, there are five veterans: John McGinn, Phillip Davis, Joseph Castillo, Michael Tucker, and Timothy Clark. McGinn served in the United States Army Infantry for nine years. He was a member of the 101st Airborne Division, the 5th Special Forces Group, and the 1st Cavalry Division. He was a Major and served during Desert Shield/Storm. Davis served as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps. Castillo was a First Class Petty Officer in the United States Navy. He served for 16 years, twice in Iraq in 2004 and 2005 and once in Afghanistan in 2013. Tucker served as a Chief Boatswain’s Mate in the United States Coast Guard. He served for 30 years across Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Virginia, and Florida. Clark served in the United States Marine Corps for 21 years. He was a Gunnery Sergeant and served in Iraq and Afghanistan. We appreciate and thank each of these brave men for their service to our country.
