On Wednesday, December 4, McKinney Christian Academy held its weekly chapel for the Upper and Middle School students. This week, the second part of the Founder’s Chapel series took place, and the students heard from Kassy Cooper. Kassy Cooper, founder of the Now Not Later nonprofit organization from Dallas, Texas, was the second speaker for this series. Cooper started writing her book Now Not Later in her junior year at Texas A&M University. Then, during her senior year, she said the Lord inspired her to start the nonprofit organization to “give full-time to people to follow Jesus now and not later wholeheartedly.” When asked about her future goals with Now Not Later, she responded, “It would be that now, not later, would come alongside the body of Christ to lead every young person to a wholehearted devotion to Jesus, causing a movement of God from coast to coast that would spread across the world.” She has big plans for future generations. Cooper had lunch with the senior girls to answer questions and encourage them as they were about to go out into the world. She shared her favorite Bible verse, Exodus 14:14, which says, “The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Senior Joy Allen was asked to share her thoughts on the message at the chapel, and she replied, “The message was good. It was meant to be very thought-provoking, and I believe it hit the mark well. She spoke about things that do not always get addressed but are needed in order to truly reflect where you are at in your walk with Christ.”
