On Monday, December 10, the Lower School students had a Christmas program. They sang traditional Christmas carols and non-traditional songs that told the story of Jesus’ birth. They sang “Hark! The Herald Angels sing”, “Away in a Manger,” “Silent Night” (with sign language), “The First Noel,” “Joy to the World,”” Jingle Bells,” and “We wish you a Merry Christmas.” The non-traditional songs gave us different perspectives throughout the Christmas story, such as the innkeeper songs, which included “No Room” and “1,2,3, People.” First grade sang a Christmas version of “I’m in the Lord’s Army.” Third grade sang “While Shepherds Watched the Flocks,” which gave us a perspective from the shepherds that night. Other songs were “Shout our Emmanuel,” “Waiting for Christmas,” “In His Presence,” and “When They Say the Star.” Overall the Christmas pageant was a great success for all who were involved.
