This weekend, Freshman Landrie Joseph competed in 3 brackets in Oklahoma City in the ADCC Submission Fighting World Federation Abu Dhabi Combat Club – which is considered one the most prestigious No-Gi submission grappling tournaments in the world, and is commonly referred to as The Olympics of Grappling. She competed in both the 13/14 and 15/17 brackets, as well as the Women’s Intermediate Division. Her only losses in both teen brackets were to the top current phenom teen who is beating seasoned black belts. She lost to her in the Final in 15/17, and in the Semi-Final in the 13/14 grouping. So she placed 2nd in 15/17 and 3rd in 13/14. And for the first time in competition, she made it to the Final of the Adult Women’s Intermediate Division before narrowing taking the loss to finish 2nd. When Joseph was asked how she think she did she said, “Even though I placed 2nd and 3rd I still feel like this comp was the best one yet, because I went 5-3 and I worked super hard for each of my wins.”
