On Thursday, August 21 to Saturday, August 23, the McKinney Christian Academy varsity volleyball team hosted and competed in the 16th Annual Tournament of Champions. They came out swinging, beating Prestonwood North, Grapevine Faith and Parish Episcopal in pool play. This put the Mustangs first in their pool. On Saturday, the Mustangs started strong, beating Trinity Christian Addison. The first set scores were 25-19 and the second set was 25-17. In the end, they fell short, losing to Legacy Christian in two sets. The scores were 11-25 and 16-25. Senior Sadie Blake was awarded All-Tournament team. Sophomore Brittany Bartoo shares her thoughts, saying,” The tournament was such a fun experience and we did amazing as a team. Even though we did not win, we got better in the process. I cannot wait to see how far our team goes this season.”
Their next game is Tuesday, August 26, against Elevate Academy.
