On August 27, the Lady Mustangs varsity volleyball team traveled to Orlando, Florida. When they arrived, they enjoyed some team bonding by attending Universal Studios. On August 28, the team woke up bright and early to play four back-to-back games. In their first match, they played Crestview High School. The Mustangs won the first set 26-24, lost the second set 24-26, and pushed through to win in the third set with the score 15-13. In their second match, they played Decatur High School. They unfortunately lost in two sets. The final scores of both sets were 17-25 and 21-25. In the Lady Mustangs’ third match of the day, they played Owasso High School. The ladies pulled through with a win and the final score of the match was 26-16 and 25-21. Senior Sadie Blake was the leading scorer with eight kills. In the fourth and final match of the day, the ladies played Crimsley High School, dropping two sets.. On August 29, the varsity girls played in two different matches. Their first match was against Providence Classical. The Mustangs went to three sets with Providence and won two of the three sets. The scores of all three sets were 19-25, 25-19, and 15-11. The second match of the day, the Mustangs played and defeated Cornerstone Charter Academy. The final scores of the game were 25-16 and 25-21. The kill leader of the match was sophomore Brittany Bartoo with nine kills. On the last day of the tournament, August 30, the Lady Mustangs played two matches. They played against Victory Christian and Crestview High School. Unfortunately, the ladies lost both of their matches. The final scores from their match against Victory Christian were 16-25 and 11-25. In the match against Crestview, the final scores were 19-25 and 22-25.
The Lady Mustangs return home on August 31, and their next game is September 4, at Wylie Prep.
