On Friday, September 12, the Upper School Cross Country Team ran at the Pilot Point Invitational Meet in Pilot Point. The conditions of their races were especially challenging, with the temperature outside being around 90 degrees and the course lacking in hardly any shade. However, both senior Dylan Neuner and junior Carys Mejan medaled in the JV girls’ race, displaying their ability to persevere in challenging circumstances. Also, freshman Mason McAnally and Brianna Dunne received the Ric Flair Award for noticeable improvement and hard work the week before and during their races. When asked about how she thought the team did, freshman Everett Neuner said, “Even though this race was difficult, we did really well, and I couldn’t be more proud of this amazing team!”
Overall, the teams gave their best shot at the meet, and while this may not have been their best run of the season, they will continue to push on towards new personal records.
Their next meet will be on Friday, September 19, at Fort Worth Christian School.
