On Thursday, September 25, the McKinney Christian Academy middle school D1 team faced off against Good Shepherd. They started the first set strong with a close score of 25-22. They fought a close second set but ultimately lost with a score of 22-25. In the third set, both teams battled it out with the Mustangs losing 13-15. Seventh Grader Hadley Tennison says her thoughts about the game, “We didn’t win the match today, but I’m really proud of our team. Even though some of us were sick and not feeling our best, we still gave it everything we had. We worked really hard and encouraged each other. We also never gave up, and that’s what really matters.”
On Thursday, September 25, the McKinney Christian Academy middle school D2 team played Good Shepherd. The first set ended with a score of 12-25. The. The Mustangs fought the second set and won with a score of 25-22. In the third set, the Lady Mustangs lost with a score of 9-15. A standout player during this game was sixth grader Adeline Castillo. She displayed elite defense, making numerous diving plays. Castillo shares her words on the game, saying, ” Good Shepherd had really good hitters and passers. They were talented and a tough opponent. I am so proud of us for fighting and playing through the game. Even though we are a young team, we showed up. This game was really helpful because it showed us what we needed to work on, and what stood out.”
They play next on Tuesday, September 30, against Prince of Peace.
