The National Merit Scholarship Corporation holds an annual competition to recognize academically talented high school students. Among the few who qualify for the top honors Junior, Adam Gicheru, placed as a National Merit Finalist. McKinney Christian Academy proudly recognized Gicheru’s amazing achievement by presenting him with the award. When asked about the honor, Gicheru said, “I’m very honored to have received this award, and I’m happy that I made my parents proud.” Out of approximately 1.3 million students who entered the competition, only the top 50,000 receive recognition. These students, designated as National Merit Commended Students, are recognized for their amazing academic abilities. McKinney Christian Academy is honored to support and celebrate Adam Gicheru in all of his academic achievements.

Carrington Lansford is currently a freshman and attending her fifth year at MCA. She enjoys playing basketball in the winter, cheering in the fall, and running track in the spring. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with friends and family. This is her first year in newspaper as a staff writer and she is excited to be a part of it.
