On Monday, October 6th, the McKinney Christian Academy Choir performed in the fall choir concert. The sixth Grade Choir performed “The Ghost Ship” and “A Jubilant Song.” 7th & 8th Grade Choirs presented “A Festive Alleluia” and “Something Told the Wild Geese,” Which featured solos by 8th graders Charlotte Monroe and Alayna Behn. Our all-ladies Vocal Ensemble delighted audience members with “Route 66,” a lively traditional jazz piece, along with “Wide Open Spaces” (made famous by The Dixie Chicks) and “Thank You for the Music” (as performed by ABBA). The Varsity Mixed Choir performed the beautiful Latin piece “O Nata Lux” and the powerful gospel number “Witness,” which tells stories from both the Old and New Testaments. The evening concluded with a heartfelt performance of “The Lord Bless You and Keep You,” sung by all Middle and Upper School Choir members. When Mrs. Jordan was asked about this tradition she said, “This cherished tradition has been ongoing for six years and is our way of offering a blessing to everyone in attendance.” When asked on the concert, upper schooler Allison Driskell said, “The concert was a lot of fun, and I think we did well.”
