This weekend, on Saturday, October 11, the Middle School cross country teams competed at their state meet at Brook Hill School. They had been preparing for this meet for a long time, and their unwavering dedication to both God and their sport was evident throughout the meet. Despite the challenging terrain, both the boys’ and girls’ teams placed highly in their races, with the girls getting second place and the boys getting fourth place. In the boys’ race, sixth grader Beckett Hodge medaled, and in the girls’ race, seventh grader Rebecca Dominguez medaled. Also, sixth graders John Maier and Brooklyn Woodward were awarded the Ric Flair Award for surprising placement and personal records. When asked about his feelings during the race, sixth grader Cohen Holley said, “I felt good, and I passed the runner I was supposed to pass, so the race went well.”
Their final meet is on home turf, at McKinney Christian Academy, on Saturday, October 18.
