On Thursday, January 15, the McKinney Christian boys soccer team faced Bishop Gorman in a district matchup and delivered a dominant performance. The Mustangs started strong, controlling possession and setting the pace early. After applying steady pressure and creating multiple scoring opportunities, senior Hudson Clayton opened the scoring in the 12th minute, halting any momentum Bishop Gorman had built. McKinney Christian continued to control the game but struggled to convert several chances. That changed in the 41st minute when senior Kody Zbranek scored his first goal of the match, giving the Mustangs a 2–0 lead. Just two minutes later, Clayton struck again in the 43rd minute, scoring his second goal of the night and sending McKinney Christian into halftime with a commanding 3–0 advantage. The Mustangs picked up right where they left off, as junior Noah Faulkner scored his first goal of the season just one minute into the second half. McKinney Christian continued to press, and in the 75th minute, senior Grady Rodgers added another goal, extending the lead to 5–0. Bishop Gorman was unable to respond in the closing minutes, and the Mustangs secured a decisive 5–0 district victory. Senior, Jaxon Dover-Smith, said this about the match, “We played our game, and Gorman couldn’t do anything to stop us. We dominated them the whole game.” The boys play again on Tuesday, January 20, against Dallas Christian.
