On Friday, February 20, McKinney Christian Academy held a Founder’s Chapel. Jon Noyes was invited as a guest speaker to preach on the importance of knowing “Why are you a Christian?” He has a master’s degree in Christian Apologetics from Biola University. Before becoming a full-time pastor at Living Oaks Church, Jon Noyes worked in the legal field for ten years. He spent most of his life as an atheist with the belief that there is no God in existence. He emphasized the impact that his wife had on his life. She was the turning point of his walk with Christ when she invited him to church for the first time. He then concluded that naturalism does not align with reality. The pieces started to make sense, and he realized that everything has to come from something. This proved that there has to be an intelligent designer who handcrafted the universe. When Warren Truesdale was asked about his takeaway on the message, he stated, “Jon Noyes spoke about how the Christian worldview best explains reality—the way the world really is. One of the points that really stood out to me is that Christianity actually explains the reality of evil so that the problem of evil is really not a problem but evidence that supports the Christian worldview.”
