On Friday, February 27, the McKinney Christian Academy Lower School students held their first silent disco. This event took place in the SLC, with each grade taking its turn to party. Each year, the Lower School holds a fund raising event where the students participate in a jogathon known as the Fun Run. The Lower School was so blessed with generous donations this year that they decided to hold a disco party instead of the running fundraiser. Black lighting and neon colors filled the SLC. There were headphones for everyone, including three different music stations to switch between. The students dressed up in neon colors to stand out as they danced. When fifth grader, Scarlet McWilliams, was asked about her experience at the silent disco, she stated, “The silent disco was a blast. I loved seeing all of the neon colors and getting to change song stations with all of my friends. When a new song came on, we all got to dance around together, and I had so much fun.” Fifth grader, Ally Tennison, went on to add, “We got to jump up and down to each song and sing really loudly with our friends. My favorite part was when everyone was listening to the Macarena and dancing it together.”
