As Fall rolls around, it brings the 2017 football season with it. Players could not have been more ready to play on Friday, August 19th. MCA travelled to Legacy Christian Academy to scrimmage their 5A team. Even though Legacy is not in the same division, it provided an opportunity for the team to challenge themselves.

The players walked through plays and worked through any complications to prepare for their upcoming games. When asked about the prospects of the season Varsity Captain Jud Williams said,

“I am very excited for this season. Our team is close on and off the field and that shows during the games. Despite losing many great seniors, I believe we still have a chance of going far in the playoffs and possibly winning state.”

When asked about the quote above, Coach Butler stated, “Ditto.”

Many fans came out to support the Mustangs for their first game as they are also excited for the season. Kara Vita, 11th, stated “I had a lot of fun watching the scrimmage Friday night. I can’t wait to see how we do this season.”

Junior, Rex Collins, receives a high five from a team mate after scoring a touchdown.

The team huddles up to discuss the next play.
