This week’s Spotlight Coach is head cheer coach, Rachele Bajema. Bajema joined MCA this year as our Theatre Teacher and Head  Cheer/Dance Team Coach. She is also a 2011 graduate of MCA. Everyone is looking forward to seeing what new and fresh things Coach Bajema is going to bring to the MCA cheer squad this year.

Something that is different about the 2017-2018 team this season is, they are incorporating dance. By doing this, they are bringing in lots of new members that teach more towards dance rather than cheer. Sophomore, Meg Boone says, “I’m super excited to learn with Coach B this season. I’ve danced my entire life but I’ve never cheered so with this new dance/cheer team or “Spirit Squad” I can do both.”

Coach Bajema is influencing the girls not only on the cheer mat, but in life as well. Sophomore, Madeline Bohlman says, “Coach Bajema is one of the most understanding and Christ-like people I’ve ever met, not only is she a great coach, but she is also a great mentor.”

Bajema’s favorite scripture verses are: Psalm 118:5-7-“When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord; he brought me into a spacious place. The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? The Lord is with me; he is my helper. I look in triumph on my enemies.”
