On February 3rd, McKinney Christian’s wrestling team traveled to Houston for the annual Prep State wrestling tournament. MCA, lacking a full team and having a short season, still managed to place 6th overall. Junior Captain Caleb Doyle, who placed 2nd overall in the 182 pound weight class, commented on the tournament. “The team wrestled very hard. I was proud of the new wrestlers and how they competed this weekend. I’m also super excited to go to Nationals for my first time. It’s always good to see hard work pay off.” Along with Caleb, junior captain Rex Collins, 160 lbs, and freshman Cort Doyle, 113 lbs, both placed 3rd, qualifying for Nationals. Also, Senior captain Will Harrell, 170 lbs, placed first. The wrestling team will be hosting TAPPS state on February 17th at MCA.
