On Tuesday, the Varsity girls loaded up for a long bus ride to Waco for their final district game. They challenged Waco Vanguard, and won 53-14. Helping lead the Mustangs to a win, Senior Marissa Wilks had 18 points, 11 rebounds, and eight blocks. Freshman Abby Moore had 10 points , four assists and five blocks. The girls finished out their district season with eight wins and one loss. On Saturday, they battled Dodd City at home to get ready for playoffs with a challenging opponent. They lost 82-36, but playing a hard team was crucial to get ready for difficult playoff games.

The Mustangs play Coram Deo at Dallas Lutheran at 7:30 for seeding in playoffs. If they win on Tuesday, the Mustangs will have a bye in the first playoff game. Wilks comments, “I’m so proud of the progress that we’ve made this season and looking forward to playoffs and the Coram Deo game this Tuesday.” The Mustangs finished their district season as co-district champs and play Coram Deo on Tuesday the 13th at Dallas Lutheran.
