On October 11, McKinney Christian spent a night celebrating their senior volleyball and cross country athletes during a home volleyball game against Grapevine Faith. It was the last home game of the season, therefore the student section was cheering extra loud for the Lady Mustangs. The junior varsity Mustangs crushed the opponent, and before the varsity game started our senior athletes were showcased. Each senior prepared a short introduction for themselves including a favorite Bible verse, favorite moment from the season, and their home church. The cross country seniors walked out first: Elyse Mead, Everett McKeller, Hayden Clow, Joshua Wong, Juliana Roller, Kara Vita, Mason Lee, Riley Pyle, and Scout Mayberry were introduced and accompanied by their parents. Senior Night is a great chance for seniors and underclassmen alike to look back on the past seasons in admiration, or in a cross country runner’s case, relief. Nonetheless, the seniors have made tons of memories over their cross country career that they’ll cherish for years to come. Once the festivities were through, the games resumed with the varsity Lady Mustangs, and the night closed out with a win against Grapevine.
