The Mustang football team competed against Lubbock Trinity Christian on Friday, October 9. The Mustangs came out victorious with a score of 37 to 20. Senior Blake McGraw went 21 for 29, threw for 387 yards and five touchdowns. McGraw said, “I wouldn’t have been able to do it without my offensive line and the rest of my squad. We have to stay battle tested coming into district.” When asked about the game, head coach Chance Gray stated, “We got off to a really slow start and we need to fix that in the future. I thought we had a big pick me up from Cooper Roach when he went into linebacker and helped us. Freshman Cash Etheredge went into safety when Cooper moved to linebacker and I want to give a shout out to him.” When asked his expectations going into district Gray said, “I believe we can and will put the most energetic, passionate and be the best team that MCA has ever put on the field. Regardless of the score, our team is going to play with fanatical effort for four quarters. That is what I expect for district.” The Mustangs are on the road again heading to Tyler to play Grace Community in the first district game Friday, October 16.
