Mustangs Basketball Prevails Twice Again

On Thursday, December 3, the Varsity Mustangs basketball team achieved an 80-34 point win over Seagoville High School. The Mustang’s football season had recently concluded allowing football players to return to another season of basketball. “It was great to have all the guys back as they brought a whole lot more energy to the team,” said  Sophomore leading point scorer, Bobby McWard. McWard contributed 25 points, three rebounds, seven assists, and three steals to the Mustang’s victory over Seagoville. Returning from football,  junior Zeke Long added seven points to the board, along with three rebounds, one assist, and two steals.

On Saturday, December 5, the Mustangs played Denison High School at home. Prevailing yet again, they achieved their seventh win of the season, 89-31. The team atmosphere and energy contributed to their win over Denison as it brought momentum to the game. Sophomore Nate McMahon hit two three-pointers, and senior Blake McGraw’s aggressive defense posed a threat to the Denison Yellow Jackets. Offensively, junior Jalen Wheeler led the game with 27 points and five assists. 

The Mustangs remain undefeated and will return to the court on Tuesday, December 8, away at Cistercian Preparatory School.
