Varsity Girls Basketball Team Comes up Short

The Girls Basketball Team loses 23-22 in a district tie-breaker game.

On Wednesday, February 25, the Varsity Girls basketball team played against Tyler Grace in a tie-breaker game to see who would finish with the second seed going into the playoffs. In their last two matchups, the two teams have each won once. The Mustangs gained a 14-10 lead at halftime but ended up falling short by one point at the end of the game, losing 23-22. Sophomore Laney LeBlanc commented on the game stating, “I think we fought really hard the whole game and I’m really proud of how we played as a team.” Junior Charli Bazor led the team on the defensive end with five rebounds and sophomore Abby Thomas led the team in points with 14. The Lady Mustangs play in the first round of playoffs at home against Coram Deo Friday February 26 at 7:30 p.m.
