Mustangs compete in their first outdoor meet of the season.

On Saturday, February 27th, the Mustang Track team headed down to Fort Worth to compete in a track meet at Nolan Catholic High School. This was the first outdoor track meet of the season. Sophomore Leigh Evan Kitzmiller placed fourth in the junior varsity 400 meter dash. Her time was 1:12.80. Freshman Jacob Dover-Smith placed first in the junior varsity 100 meter and 200 meter dash with a time of 12.25 and 25.01. Freshman David Roller placed third in the junior varsity 100 meter dash with a time of 12.50. He also placed second in the 1600 meter with a time of 5:17.14 and first in the long jump with 17’7″. Junior Daniel Kanz placed third in the Varsity 200 meter dash with a time of 24.22. Kanz also placed fourth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 55.09. Kanz said after being asked how the first meet went and what his favorite part was he said,”My favorite part was the 200 meter dash. It was a good first meet to see how we stand at the beginning of the season.” Overall, the team had a very successful first meet. The next high school track meet is at Liberty Christian on Thursday March 11 in Argyle Texas.
