Varsity Track Meet at Fort Worth
The 4×400 relay team shaved off eight seconds, breaking the school record.

On Saturday, March 27 the Mustang track team traveled to Fort Worth for the All Saints track meet. The 4×200 team which consists of Senior Maliq Brock, Junior Daniel Kanz, Junior Maddox Pederson, and Freshman Jacob Dover-Smith broke the school record with a time of 1:32.02 and finished with a second place finish. The 4×400 team broke the school record by shaving off eight seconds for a time of 3:34.23 and finished with first place. In the 4×400 is Brock, Kanz, Pederson, and Freshman Noah Wheeler. When asked about how he felt about the 4×400 Kanz said, “Being ranked 2nd in state is a great accomplishment for us but I know we can always improve and take the 1st place spot in state.” Other awards at this meet consisted of:
Senior Matthew Wong placed second in shot put.
Freshman Kaylin Starling placed third in discus and shot put.
Sophomore Leigh Evan Kitzmiller got second in 100 meter hurdles and first in 300 meter hurdles.
Sophomore Josie Allen got second in 300 meter hurdles.
Sophomore Belle Kanz placed third in 400 meter dash.
The Mustang track teams’ next meet will be Thursday, April 1, the David Vinson Private School Championship held at Brookhill.
