The Mustang baseball team took on the Dallas Christian Chargers this past Tuesday, March 30 and lost 5-3 in extra innings. The Mustangs took an early lead with an RBI double from senior Shane Vanderhagen. Senior Ryan Radtke pitched eight innings and hit a home run in the eighth to tie the game at 3-3. The Chargers would take the lead in the top of the ninth with a two-run home run and got three outs to secure the win.

On Thursday, April 1, the team traveled to Mesquite to play Dallas Christian in the second game of the series. The Mustangs were winning by one run going into the fifth inning until they were able to record RBIs from Vanderhagen and Radtke. The Chargers suffered seven errors throughout the game and the Mustangs dominated 10-1. Senior Cooper Roach pitched all seven innings for the Mustangs, only allowing two hits and one run. When asked about the split series Vanderhagen said, “After the tight game against DC on Tuesday, we knew we needed to come out with energy and get ahead early instead of letting them stay in the game.”

The Mustangs will play Brookhill in a two-game series on Tuesday, April 6 in Bullard and Friday, April 9 at home.
