On January 23, the McKinney Christian Academy boys soccer team traveled to Garland to face off Brighter Horizons Academy. The Mustangs fought hard but ended up losing 6-2. The first goal was scored by sophomore Max Luna with a shot from inside the goal box. The second goal was scored by Liam Corley off a penalty shot. In the end, the boys came up short. Senior Elliot Mahoti said, “you owe it to yourself to be the best you can be even if you lose.”

The Lady Mustangs also faced off against Brighter Horizons Academy and were victorious. They won with a final score of 12-0 shutting out the Stars on defense. By the end of the game, eight different players had scored for the Lady Mustangs. Junior captain and goalkeeper Alexa Harriman scored a goal and said, “I was so excited when I scored especially as a keeper. Moving deeper into district play, it is going to be key that we focus on winning one game and one win at a time.” Both teams play again on Friday, January 28, at Cristo Rey.
