On Friday August 19, the Mustang football team played their second scrimmage of the year against Founders Classical at Mustang Field. The scrimmage was not formatted like a normal game. Mustangs Head Coach Dan Whitsett says “We didn’t really look at any stats, but we did look long and hard at the film to make sure we maximized our opportunities and made good decisions out there.”  With week one approaching against Lake Country Christian, Whitsett speaks on what this group has already accomplished and what is still to be tackled. “This group has an opportunity to do some good things this season. They worked hard in the weight room all summer, and they played a lot of 7 on 7. They also had to learn a new offense and defense. We are short on numbers, so we’ll have to stay healthy and have some luck in that category. It is always tough with a small roster, but overall, this group will get better and better as the season progresses.”

Look for your Mustangs on Friday, August 26 traveling to Fort Worth to take on Lake Country Christian.
