Thursday, August 25, the Middle School football team had their first game of the season. McKinney Christian Academy was playing Lake Country Christian from Fort Worth. As the Mustangs hosted their first home game, their ultimate goal was to take home the win. On the first offensive play for the Mustangs, eighth grader Joey Gunn ran the ball for a 60 yard touchdown. As the game progressed and eventually went to halftime, the Mustangs had a strong lead 36-0. The Mustangs and Lake Country battled for the win and MCA ended up on top. The final score was 53-0 for a Mustangs win. When Gunn was asked about the game, “I feel like the team played a great both offensive and defensive game. The whole team was locked in and ready to dominate the game.” The next game will be away against First Baptist on Thursday, September 1st.
