The Mustangs Battle Against Lake Country In the First Game Of the Season, but Come Up Short

On Friday, August 26, the McKinney Christian Academy Varsity Football team traveled to Fort Worth to take on Lake Country Christian in the first official football game of the 2022-2023 season. In the first half of the game, MCA and Lake Country both put up 21 going back and forth between touchdowns. In the second half of the game, the Mustangs scored only seven, while Lake Country put up 12 in quarter three and another six in quarter four. In the end, the Mustangs fought hard but lost in the non-conference game 39-28 with junior, Noah Wheeler, scoring two touchdowns on kick returns. With this loss, McKinney Christian Academy moves to 0-1 on the season. After the game, junior, Austin George stated, “Our team fought very hard in our game and we learned a lot. Overall, our team can improve on tackling and keeping up the energy for the next game.”

Their next game is at home on September 2 against First Baptist Academy.
