On Friday, September 16, McKinney Christian Academy hosted the Atlas Homeschool Rattlers. The Mustangs had high hopes against the Rattlers after defeating them 66-18 in a non-district battle last year. The Mustangs are fighting four injuries this year that have set them back early in the season. Head Coach Dan Whitsett says, “We have been fighting through a lot of adversity in the first four weeks this season. Along with a short roster this year, we have dealt with some injuries and sickness that has challenged us even further. But the boys have been working and competing hard throughout. We have improved each week in many aspects, and have been playing very hard. However, we have consistently struggled in the 4th quarter of games so far.” The Mustangs unfortunately fell short, 17-20, with a comeback by the Rattlers late in the fourth quarter.

The Mustangs have a bye week, but their season will continue on September 30 against Colleyville Covenant at Ron Poe Stadium.
