On Friday, October 7, McKinney Christian Academy’s Middle School football team played a neutral site game against Home School Athletic Association at Emerson High School in Frisco. The Mustangs battled it out with HSAA, but ended up losing 56-36. When asked about the game, eighth grader Angel Lopez said, “I think we need to pick up our defense, our offense didn’t do terrible, we didn’t go full speed. I was kinda down after the game but we got this week, we are gonna come out with that win.” Eighth grader Joey Gunn said, “We really need to work on getting our energy up, and continue to pursue excellence in the name of Christ.” Eighth grader Harrison Thompson also added, “We played good, but they were better, we could have put in more effort on defense, especially finishing our tackles.” The Mustangs hope to continue a winning season and go into district play strong. The Mustangs will face off against Good Shepherd on Thursday, October 13, at home.
