On Wednesday, January 18, McKinney Christian Academy girls and boys varsity basketball played against Prince of Peace Christian School. The night began with the varsity Lady Mustangs taking the court. The game started with a slow beginning for the Mustangs. After a struggle for the ball, the first half ended 12-32 with the Mustangs falling behind. When the third quarter came, the Lady Mustangs managed to pick up the pace, but were ultimately defeated with the score finishing 21-59. When asked about the game, junior Meilania Vance said “I think we played hard, but we definitely could have done better.”

Afterwards, the varsity boys began their game against Prince of Peace. Both teams played hard against one another as the points began to add up, until the Mustangs managed to break away and take the lead 27-16. Prince of Peace began to continue to score but were unable to catch up to the Mustangs in time, the finishing score ending as 62-47. Sophomore Landry Draper adds that “We played really good but our defense was lowkey lacking. But other than that we played really hard and had a lot of energy.” Both teams next game will be on Friday, January 20 against All Saints Episcopal.
