On Monday, February 6, the McKinney Christian Academy Mustangs traveled to Dallas Christian to play in the TAPPS 4A District Tournament. The first matchup for the Mustangs was against Prince of Peace Christian School. The Mustangs were victorious winning 74-39. They then advanced to the District Tournament Championship against Brook Hill Academy. The Mustangs won with a score of 66-43 becoming Tournament Champions. The Mustangs then played in a tiebreaker game for first place in the district against Brook Hill. The Mustangs won once again with a score of 52-37 making them District Champions for the second year in a row. Head Coach Fonzo Martinez added, “Our win against Brook Hill was one of their worst losses in the last few years as they are a very good program. We jumped out to a 37-13 lead in the first half against Brook Hill to win the championship, and in the semi-final game against POPCS we made thirteen three-pointers as a team.”  The next game for the Mustangs will be the Area Playoff matchup against Pantego Christian on Tuesday, February 14.
