On February 11, McKinney Christian Academy’s Varsity wrestling team competed in the TAPPS State Tournament. Sophomore Luke Smith represented MCA and got third place in his weight class. According to Head Wrestling Coach Keith Filippo, Smith played one of his best games ever. Smith’s only loss in the tournament was by merely two points to the eventual champion. Filippo also added, “Our wrestlers have been working hard all season and have earned everything they have achieved on the mat.” Although no wrestlers were sent no nationals, the Mustangs celebrate their accomplishments this season.
