McKinney Christian Academy Varsity Track And Field Does Solid At Their First Meet

On Saturday March 25th, McKinney Christian Academy varsity track and field team traveled to John Paul II Cardinal Invitational. Although it was the team’s first meet, the Mustangs went out and brought back hardware. Here are the medals won by the Mustangs at the meet. For individuals, junior David Roller placed first in the 3200 and second in the 1600, freshman Adam Gicheru placed second in Long Jump, sophomore Caleb Atherton got second in High Jump, freshman Alyssa Prahl placed first in 300 Hurdles and Belle Kanz PR’d in the 400 as well as getting first place. Gicheru said,”We all had a really good first meet. I PR’d in Long Jump and got second place, which is really exciting as a freshman and a really good way to start the season off.” For the team events, freshman Avery Schall, sophomore Kadence Ackmann, senior Belle Kanz and freshman Tatum Barnard placed third in the Girls 4×100 and Schall, Ackmann, Prahl, and Barnard placed third in the Girls 4×200. The next track meet for varsity track and field is on Thursday, March 30th.
