Mustangs Walk Off Area Playoffs

On May 2nd, the McKinney Christian Academy varsity baseball faced off in the Area round of TAPPS state baseball playoffs against the Lubbock Trinity Lions. The Mustangs started the game off with a 1-0 lead as junior Jax Marshall scored on a wild throw. Trinity then came back after a two run home run to give them a lead in the top of the second. After a scoreless inning in the third, the Mustangs brought in a run with sophomore Teague Spivey’s single into right field. The Mustangs and Lions game came down to the bottom of the seventh inning with the bases loaded and sophomore Jackson Johnson up to the plate. Johnson laid down a bunt to score junior Caden Brown and walk the game off. Spivey earned the player of the game offensively going 2 for 3, and junior Connor Jarzombek got defensive player of the game going complete game with 4 hits and only 2 earned runs. The Mustangs play the Brook Hill Guard for the third time this year at Grand Saline High School on May 8th for the Regional matchup.
