On Thursday, August 31, the McKinney Christian Academy Middle School football team played at First Baptist Academy in Dallas, Texas. The Mustangs ended the ruthless three year win streak of First Baptist. MCA took control of the game early and was up 24-6 in the first quarter. In the second quarter, eighth grader Chase Lorenzo made a crucial sack on the opposing quarterback. Afterwards, Lorenzo said “On the sack, I just felt like it was a perfect place, perfect timing, and a great call from our coaches to blitz and I just executed.” The Mustangs ended up beating First Baptist with a final score of 53-14. After the game, eighth grader Wheeler Clayton said, “We are going to keep this team going and we are going to win week after week for sure.” The Middle School team hopes to continue their streak throughout the year and make it to district without an issue.
The Mustangs next game is on Thursday, September 7, at home.
