On Thursday, October 19, the McKinney Christian Academy cross country team competed in the district meet at Springfield Park. The girls finished with district runner up lead by junior Joy Allen coming in second and when asked about the meet, Allen said, “This was a very solid meet, it was nice to see all of our work paying off with medals and PR’s.” Following Allen, sophomores Dylan Neuner in fifth, Hannah Doshier in sixth, Hannah Reynolds in twelvth and Jadyn Chastain in fourteenth. Shortly after, the men started their race. The men finished as district champs lead by senior David Roller coming in first for the second year in a row and when asked about being district champion, Roller said, “It was a very tough day, with a later start time than normal we had to adapt to be fresh for our race. I’m super proud of this team, they put in a lot of work, and it showed off today.” Coming next, was junior Jack Sukhia in 3rd, seniors Nicholas Catullo in 4th and Wyatt Tessier in 10th. Next was sophomores Jake Mutscheller in 12th and Luke McAnally in 13th. The Mustangs next meet will be the TAPPS State Championship on Monday, October 30.

Nicholas Catullo is currently a senior and has been attending MCA since 1st grade. This will be his second year in newspaper. Catullo will be competing in cross country, soccer, and golf for his school. In his freetime, he enjoys racing in Ironman triathlons with his dad and hanging out with friends and family. His favorite memory at MCA is going to the cross country State Championship his freshmen year. His favorite bible verse is Isaiah 41:10
