On Tuesday, April 23, the McKinney Christian Academy varsity baseball team faced off against Dallas Covenant in a district matchup. This was a big game for the Mustangs as it determined their seeding in the playoffs and whether or not they would host a playoff game at home. The Mustangs were off to a hot start a single by senior Jax Marshall extended their lead 3-0 in the top of the second inning. Senior Connor Jarzombek started on the mound for the Mustangs and gave up only four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out nine and walking one, pitching a complete game. Marshall was a big contributor to this game as he led the team in hits, collecting four hits in four at bats, with a solo home run to left field in the fourth inning. Junior John Clark was not far behind as he collected three hits in four at bats. Furthermore, Marshall reached the 100 hit milestone and becomes the first player ever in MCA history to achieve this feat. After the game, Marshall says, “It’s an honor to be an MCA Mustang. I love my team, I love my coaches, and I love baseball.”
The Mustangs will play next on Friday, April 26, away against Grapevine Faith.
