MCA Volleyball Puts Up a Good Fight against JPll

The Mustangs Fall to JPII after a long weekend of tournament play.

McKinney Christian Academy volleyball played John Paul ll on August 27 and fought incredibly hard. The Junior Varsity team lost in three sets, and the varsity team lost in three sets as well. The varsity team’s set stats were 22 to 25 in the first set, 10 to 25 in the second, and 23 to 25 in the last. When asked how the team played, freshman Abby Lowe said, “We started off slow but put up a good fight to get ready for the Florida tournament.”

The Mustangs look to bounce back in the Florida tournament on August 29.

Lyric is currently attending her first year at MCA as a freshman. She enjoys hanging out with her friends in her freetime and riding horses competitively. Lyric is excited to contribute to this years Mane Edition newspaper. Her favorite bible verse is Ephesians 2:10, "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

Cana Heckadon has attended MCA since sixth grade and is currently in her freshman year. This is her first year in newspaper and she is excited to develop a new skill and make new friends. Cana's main sport is basketball; however, she also enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her favorite memory is when she went to San Pedro, Belize and met many new people. Cana is looking forward to enhancing photography for The Mane Edition. With the LORD on her side, she lives by her favorite Bible verse, Luke 6:38 " Give, and it will be given to you."
