On Friday, October 11, The Mckinney Christian football team faced off in a Friday night lights game against the Shelton Chargers. The Shelton Chargers started strong, scoring the first couple of drives of the game. The Mustangs made an effort led by quarterback Cody Dow, starting the Mustang offense by scoring two rushing touchdowns. Junior Cody Dow finished the game with 69 rushing yards with 14 attempts and going 14/30 on passing attempts, 143 passing yards, and two touchdowns. Sophomore Quinten Philips had four receptions and 69 receiving yards. Sophomore Harry Thompson finished with six receptions and 56 yards. On the defensive side of the ball is where the Mustangs struggled. The three defensive leaders for the Mustangs were Sophomore Lincoln Pogue with six combined tackles, Junior Jasher Massingale with four combined tackles, and sophomore Harry Thompson with six combined tackles. Andrew long had this to say about the game, “It was a very off game for the Mustangs we tried our best but with the little help we had we were overpowered.”
