Varsity Girls Win First Soccer Scrimmage

The Mustangs beat Bishop Dunne 8-0 in last night’s scrimmage.

On Monday, November 11, the McKinney Christian varsity soccer team played Bishop Dunne at home. This was the first scrimmage of the 2024-25 season. At halftime, the Mustangs were up 2-0. The girls continued to fight and won with a score of 8-0. Junior, Hannah Dosier, was asked about her thoughts on the game. “I think that we played pretty good for our first game back. It was nice to get back out on the field.”

The next varsity girls’ soccer game is Tuesday, November 19.

Tatum Barnard has been attending MCA since kindergarten and is now a junior. This will be her third year on the newspaper staff. Barnard will be playing soccer for her school in the winter. In her free time, she enjoys being with her friends, family, and playing competitive soccer. Her favorite part of MCA is the Christian community she is surrounded by every day. Barnard's favorite verse is Ephesians 2:3-5.  "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions- it is by grace you have been saved."
