Varsity Girls Soccer Beats Prince of Peace

The Mustangs beat POPCS 8-0 at Home.

On Monday, December 3, the McKinney Christian Academy Varsity girl’s soccer team played POPCS at home in preparation for district play. The Mustangs started strong, with the halftime score being 3-0. As the game continued, both teams continued to play hard. The girls almost tripled the score, making the final 8-0, a Mustang win. The players that scored were senior Havilah Mahadi, junior Tatum Barnard, freshman Megan Moats, junior Lizzie Gutshlag, and senior Casey Gerardis. Junior Hannah Dosier was asked about her thoughts on the game, and she said, “I think that we played well as a team and worked together as a team really good. I am excited for this upcoming season.”

Their next game is on Monday, December 9, against Texas Storm.

Tatum Barnard, Business Manager
Tatum Barnard has been attending MCA since kindergarten and is now a junior. This will be her third year on the newspaper staff. Barnard will be playing soccer for her school in the winter. In her free time, she enjoys being with her friends, family, and playing competitive soccer. Her favorite part of MCA is the Christian community she is surrounded by every day. Barnard's favorite verse is Ephesians 2:3-5.  "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions- it is by grace you have been saved."
